Exolaunch Announces Completion of Acquisition by EQT
EQT's backing will accelerate Exolaunch's global growth, expanding access to space for customers and new service offerings across the space value chain
Berlin, Germany — October 7, 2026 — Exolaunch, a global leader in launch mission management, satellite integration and deployment technologies for the world's foremost satellite operators, announced the completion of the acquisition by EQT X ("EQT"), a global investment organization headquartered in Sweden. The transaction closing follows the agreement announced on June 18, 2026.
With the acquisition complete, EQT will support Exolaunch in scaling its global operations, investing in the development of new satellite launch and deployment technologies, and expanding its services across the space value chain. The partnership brings resources and operational expertise to support a broader range of launch opportunities with established and emerging launch providers, while advancing the company's long-term vision for frequent and reliable access to space for satellite constellations, in-space manufacturing, microgravity experiments, payload return to Earth, and more.
“Completing the acquisition marks an important milestone for our team and reinforces the vision we have built with our customers and partners,” said Dr. Robert Sproles, CEO of Exolaunch. “EQT shares our belief that a growing space economy needs dependable launch infrastructure. With EQT's backing, we can build on what our team does best while investing in what comes next: more launch opportunities, more capable constellation deployment technologies and the capacity to support increasingly ambitious missions. We are ready for this next chapter.”
The closing follows a series of agreements that are broadening Exolaunch's global launch program and opening new opportunities for commercial and government customers.
In September, Exolaunch announced its selection as launch integrator for the German Space Agency and NASA's GRACE-C mission. The mission is planned to fly aboard Falcon 9 no earlier than Q4, 2028. Exolaunch also secured capacity with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. on Japan's H3 rocket for a 2027 flight to a mid-inclination orbit. Serving several constellation customers, the mission will mark Exolaunch's first launch from Japan and adds another launch vehicle and launch site to its global offering.
These additions complement Exolaunch's Exo-1 and Exo-2 Falcon 9 dedicated missions, scheduled for 2027 and 2028, respectively.
Exolaunch is also expanding its offering to include return-to-Earth services. Its first contract for a SpaceX Starfall mission, scheduled to launch on Starship no earlier than 2029, will support customer payloads for biotechnology, pharmaceutical research and in-space manufacturing. Exolaunch will manage technical, contractual, logistical and operational requirements, building on its experience coordinating complex integration campaigns.
Together, these programs demonstrate how Exolaunch is expanding its launch infrastructure and services. The EQT ownership will mark the start of the next stage for Exolaunch, combining its entrepreneurial foundation with the resources to pursue growth at greater scale.
