Paris, France — September 21, 2026 — Exolaunch, a global leader in launch mission management, payload integration and deployment technologies, today announced it has signed a contract with SpaceX for a Starfall mission targeted to launch on a SpaceX Starship rocket in 2029. The agreement marks Exolaunch's major expansion into microgravity research, in-space manufacturing and return-to-Earth transportation.
Exolaunch will serve as a payload integrator for the mission, offering biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, advanced-materials developers, governments, space agencies, research institutions and private organizations an end-to-end pathway to fly experiments and mission-critical payloads aboard Starfall, operate them in the space environment and return them safely to Earth.
“Today, Exolaunch is opening an entirely new chapter in its history. We are proud to secure our first Starfall mission with SpaceX,” said Jeanne Allarie, Chief Marketing Officer at Exolaunch. “For years, we have helped satellite operators around the world reach orbit reliably and at scale. Through this new program, we are extending that trusted model to microgravity research, in-space manufacturing, and return-to-Earth services. Exolaunch looks forward to bringing its integration experience, global customer network and record of execution to this next generation of missions.”
Demand for access to a microgravity environment is growing rapidly, particularly in pharmaceutical development, biotechnology, life sciences and advanced materials, including industrial applications such as semiconductor materials research, crystal growth and optical fiber manufacturing. Exolaunch's mission aboard Starfall is designed to address these needs. By aggregating customer demand and managing technical, contractual, logistical and operational requirements, Exolaunch will make Starfall's capabilities accessible to a broader global community.
“SpaceX's Starfall spacecraft presents an opportunity to expand access to microgravity,” said Emilie Marley Siemssen, Vice President of Business Development at Exolaunch. “The ability to launch, operate and return payloads through a single integrated service is transformative.”
The mission builds upon Exolaunch's longstanding collaboration with SpaceX. Since 2020, Exolaunch has deployed hundreds of customer satellites across dozens of Falcon missions, supporting commercial companies, governments, universities, research organizations and space agencies worldwide.
Exolaunch is now engaging customers and strategic partners for the 2029 mission. Payload opportunities are expected to include pharmaceutical and biotechnology investigations, life-science experiments, advanced-materials research, in-space manufacturing and technology demonstrations.
Exolaunch's recently announced Exo-1 and Exo-2 missions, which SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket will launch, and its newly secured Starfall mission, reflects the company's evolution from a leading rideshare integrator into a broader global orbital access and space-mobility provider. Together with EQT Private Equity's ongoing acquisition of Exolaunch, these milestones underscore the company's strong growth trajectory and position it to accelerate international expansion and new service offerings across the space value chain.
