Exolaunch Secures First Launch from Japan with MHI H3 for Constellation Customers

New mid-inclination mission with H3 expands Exolaunch's global launch program and gives satellite operators a reliable pathway to orbit from Japan

Paris, France — September 14, 2026 — Exolaunch, a global leader in launch mission management, satellite integration and deployment services, announced launch agreements with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. to secure launch capacity on MHI's H3 rocket for a mid-inclination rideshare mission scheduled for 2027. Exolaunch's first launch from Japan will serve several constellation customers and further diversify the company's global launch manifest.

Through this partnership, Exolaunch will provide its full portfolio of end-to-end launch services, including launch capacity procurement; coordination of all contractual and technical deliverables; logistics and customs clearance; launch campaign operations; satellite integration with the H3 launch vehicle; and deployment using Exolaunch's industry-leading, flight-proven separation systems. These technologies, supported by Exolaunch's integration expertise, will help streamline the integration campaign and enable the safe, precise deployment of customer satellites into their target orbits.

As demand for launch continues to grow, satellite operators have an increasing need for orbit diversity and schedule assurance. By securing capacity across a diverse portfolio of launch vehicles, inclinations and spaceports, Exolaunch's global rideshare program gives constellation customers greater flexibility and more predictable access to orbit. The new H3 mission adds a strategically important mid-inclination opportunity from Japan to that portfolio.

H3 is Japan's flagship launch vehicle, jointly developed by JAXA and MHI. Designed for high reliability, operational flexibility and cost-effective launch services, the rocket offers multiple configurations to accommodate different payload sizes and orbital requirements, together with precise orbital injection capabilities.

“This mission marks an important first for Exolaunch: our first launch from Japan and a new mid-inclination pathway for our long-standing customers,” said Kier Fortier, Chief Revenue Officer at Exolaunch. “By adding H3 to our global launch manifest, we're unlocking unique launch opportunities, giving operators more flexibility in how and when they reach orbit, and providing more options for our customers. Together with MHI, we're pairing a highly capable launch vehicle with our flight-proven deployment technologies and hands-on integration expertise to make the entire launch preparation easier for our customers.”

The agreement also builds on Exolaunch's longstanding presence in Japan, where the company has developed relationships with constellation operators, universities and government organizations. Exolaunch opened an office in Japan in 2025, and this agreement strengthens Exolaunch's ties across the Japanese space sector as international demand for launch opportunities from Japan continues to grow.

Together with Exolaunch's previously announced Exo-1 and Exo-2 missions aboard Falcon 9, scheduled for 2027 and 2028, the H3 launch agreements mark another significant expansion of the company's global rideshare program. By securing capacity across different launch vehicles and orbital inclinations, Exolaunch is building a more resilient launch manifest and providing satellite operators with a broader range of routes to orbit.

With the acquisition by EQT Private Equity underway, Exolaunch continues to strengthen its position as a leading global launch integrator for satellite operators. The company is expanding its portfolio of launch opportunities, deployment technologies and mission services, backed by extensive flight heritage and operational expertise.
